Resolving database problems with Golden Records. If you are getting an error message like “A column name is not valid. [node name (if any)=, column name = ” this is because the database has not updated correctly when installing a new version. New features often require an update to the database. This normally happens the first time the software is run.
If you need to manually update the database you can do this by holding the Shift key down while you start the program. This will launch a maintenance utility. Click “Update Database” and let this run and then re-start the program. The problem should now be resolved.
